Meet Pamela Bryant, Human Resources Manager for the LifeLine Animal Project in Atlanta, GA! Pamela has been an animal welfare advocate for the past 18 years.

What is the most rewarding part of your work?

"What I find most rewarding is knowing that I am a part of an amazing team dedicated to making a difference within the community and saving countless vulnerable animals lives on a daily basis."

How does community wisdom play a role in your advocacy and work in animal welfare?

"There has definitely been a mindset shift in the community. I think there is more of a mutual understanding that our role as an animal services organization is to provide support to people and their pets. Making them aware of all the resources we provide from free spay/neuter services, vaccines, food, leashes, collars, dog houses and even training for common behavior issues. By coming to our community and offering direct support and not enforcement; we're looking to meet in the middle and bridge the gap between us to continue with our life saving efforts and keeping pets in their homes and not the shelter."

What would you like to see for the future of animal welfare and human well-being?

"I'd like to see a future where all shelters will become "Community Animal Centers" that provide resources to their communities and in return the community will become even more active in helping the homeless pets. Ultimately, I'd like to see a future where no healthy adoptable animal is euthanized."
